A. ROY8TER, Meat Cutter. E. R. GODSHALL, M#r. | JONESVILLE Jonesville, March 14.?The 6-yearold son of Mr. and Mrs. John Palmer died at their home here on last Friday morning. John Saihuel was a bright little fellow and was going to school and also attending the Sunday school. He was the idol of the home and many were his little friends in the schools. He was only sick one day and night with acute indigestion. His remains were laid to rest at Gilead on Saturday, the funeral service being held in the Presbyterian church. Services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. S. W. Porter. Our Savior said while on earth, "Suffer the little children to come unto me and forbid them not, for of such is the kingdom of Heaven." So by this saying of our Savior we know that little John Samuel has been transplanted from earth to heaven. Mr. and Mrs. Palmer had two infants to die before John Samuel and they have only one little fellow left to cheer their sad hearts in this world of sorrow. They have the sympathy of their many friends in this their third bereavement of their dear children. As both our county papers, Times and Progress, published full accounts of the death of I)r. W. O. Southard last week I will only write of his funeral service and burial which took place Friday at noon. The beautiful steel casket was carried by the pall bearers from the home to the Baptist church where the funeral services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. Lewis M. Rice, in the presence of a large congregation of loved ones and friends, assisted by Rev. F. C. Hickson of Gaffney, who spoke of the many good deeds of the deceased and of his faithful services as a physician and citizen and at the close of the services the remains were turned over to the Masons, who took charge of the casket and accompanied it to the cemetery, a mile away, where it was laid to rest beside two infant children with Masonic honors, of which order Dr. Southard was an honored member. Several members of the Masonic lodge of Union attended the funeral and assisted the lodge here in the beautiful burial services, Col. T. C. Duncan being one of them and by invitation presided as master at the grave. Mr. James O. Gault, one of Jonesvillo'c KnnAvo/1 1 J a ..... u ..u.iuivu Iiutcun, WB111 uuwn 10 his son's home, Oetzel Gault, a few days since, he being: sick Mr. Gault went to stay with him and help nurse him and Mr. Gault himself took sick with pneumonia and having: heart trouble Mr. Gault soon became seriously sick and is not expected to recover and every day we expect to hear that Mr. Gault has succumbed to the fatal diseases that have him in their grasp. "Death rides on every passing: breeze, And lurks on every flower, Each season has its own disease, Its peril every hour." It seems that our legislature at its last session "robbed Peter to pay Paul." They took one hundred thousand dollars from the appropriation for the pensioners and appropriated it to the lunatic asylum. As to the justice or propriety of such an act I shall not discuss in this letter. Rev. C. F. Felmet handled it very nicely in a short communication in The Times last week. News has just reached Jonesville that Mr. James O. Gault died near Kelton at 8 o'clock this morning, where he was sick at the home of his son, Oetzel Gault. Telephone. J. REYNOl GASOLINE WILL REACH ? 50 CENTS BY END OF WAR. Federal and Industrial Experts Agree That There is No Relief in Sight Now. Production Now is at Its Limit. The World says: Forty-cent gasoline by June! -Fifty-cent gasoline before the war ^^fcl^dsthe cold comfort confronting?^ country's hundreds of thousands of motor boat owners, besides the 1,0(10,000 owners of automobiles, whose number will be increased to 3,000,000 by the anticipated motor car sales of the current year. The World has sought painstakingly to ascertain whether there is any prospect of relief from the steadily mounting price of motor fuel. The answer from federal government ex perts, economics of universities, == Standard oil and independent producers, and from jobbers and retail dealers >s uniformly discouraging to gp, the "ultimate consumer." He might Unio as well make up his mind to pay double last year's price for gasoline or Gent put his car or motor boat in storage. En After the war, prices doubtless will subsi recede. A largo factor will be the tremendous production of benzol (benzine) from the by-product recovery plants installed by the United N< States St ell corporation and other pews America' industrials. Ths coal-tar men. product is now bringing 80 to 90 cents In a gallon for war material. Before the and war it Wii worth about 20 cents. The work Stell trust planned its benzol recovery plants in the expectation of selling its output in competition with Ip^ gasoline at prices prevailing before the war. The "petrol" in general use for motor fuel in England is a blend of gasoline and benzol and is considered equal, if not superior to pure gasoline. "Petrol" is likely to be the life-savor of the American motorist after the war, for there must be a tremendous surplusage of benzol in this county even after sufficient benzol is converted into anilin oil to supply the domestic -.lye industry. Suffered For Years There are many people who will be interested in the experience of Mrs. Julia Byard, Port Benton, Mont. She writes: "I suffered for years with gall-stones. A friend wrote me about Fruitola and Traxo. I started taking it and am completely cured now and feel better than I have felt for twenty years." Mrs. Byard's testimony is similar to that of many who have given this remedy a chance to help them. Fruitola is a powerful lubricant for the intestinal organs, softening the hardened particles that cause so much suffering and expelling the congested waste in an easy, natural way. A single dose is usually sufficient to clearly iuuiiiii.tr iib ruicacy. i r?x? is u spicnaia tonic-alterative that acta on the liver and kidneys, stimulates the flow of gastric juices to aid digestion, and removes bile from the general circulation. Fruitola and Traxo are prepared in the Pinus laboratories at Monticello, 111., and arrangements have been made to supply them through representative druggists. In Union they can be obtained at Milhous Drug Company. A KINI) LETTER. A KIND LETTER. Greenville, S. C., March 10, 191G. irtanburg, S. C., March 10, 1916.
