Mr. Albert Rhodes, of Gaffney, is the guest of Mr. M. C. Clark, Mr. Herbert Fowler and Mr. Herbert Smoak. > Miss Virginia Brings has resumed her school duties in Columbia after spending a few days with her mother. Mrs. W. B. Moore and Miss Rose Lindsay have returned to their home in York after a visit to Mrs. F. H. Garner and Mrs. J. D. Arthur. Dr. and Mrs. John S. Morgan have returned from their honeymoon trip and are "at home" to their friends at the residence of Mr. Richard P. Morgan on East Main street. Hon. and Mrs. Lowndes J. Browning of Sedalia will leave early next wee"k for New York to spend the Christmas holidays with their chil dren, Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Adams. Rev. D. W. Garvin will preach at Duck Pond on the third Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock instead of the second Sunday. On Sunday he will preach at Tabernacle church, morning and night. Rev. E. S. Jones, the newly appointed pastor of Grace M. E. church, will arrive with his family on Thursday and occupy the pulpit on Sunday morning at 11 o'clock and 7:30 in the evening. MR. T.P.MILLER DIED WEDNESDAY Mr. T. P. Miller died at his residence here Wednesday afternoon at 1:20 o'clock, and was buried the following day at New Hope church cemetery. Mr. Miller was ahout 70 years of age; he had been in poor health for some months, but recently grew much worse. He is survived by his wife, who wAs before her marrjage Miss Lilly Dawkins, and a daughter, Mrs. Lane, and four sons by his first wife. Mr. Miller was a good citizen, a kind neighbor and a man of strict integrity. He will be greatly missed by the community. DAY NURSERY FOR BABIES. Mrs. J. Harrv Chesslev. who is a welfare worker doing great service in the mill villages here, has recently succeeded in opening a day nursery for babies whose mothers have to work in the mill. The nursery is located at No. 4, Green street, and is being fitted up comfortazly and conveniently for the prosecution of the work. May of the mill people, many of the citizens of the town, as weTl as the mill management have contributed to this very worthy movement. MAUY'S ANIMAL SHOW. Mary had a little lamb?
