At a meeting of the magistrates of the Seventh Judicial circuit "held at Spartanburg this 11th day of December, 1914, on motion of C. T. Bridges, Esq.., the following resolution was unanimously passed: Whereas, death has invaded our ranks and removed from us H. E. Jeffries, Esq., of Cherokee county; Be it resolved, That in the death of H. E. Jeffries, Esq., the State has lost an efficient servant, and wo the magistrates for the Seventh Judicial circuit feel the loss of our brother magistrate. And further, we extend to the bereaved family our sympathy in the said hour of their bereavement. The United States Civil Service commission announces an open compet.tive examination on the date and at the examination places named above, as a result of which it is expected to make certification to fill the vacancy in the position of rural carrier at the place named above and other vacancies as they may occur on ural routes at Post Offices in the above-named county, unless it is found to be in the interest of the service to fill any vacancy by reinstatement, transfer, or promotion.
