Miss Kathrin Dillard has returned
to her home in Spartanburg from a
visit of several weeks to Miss Kathrin
Layton on East Main street.
Mrs. I). A. Boyd, who has been the
guest of her sister, Mrs. Charles Williamson

Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Milhous left this
week for a visit to relatives in Denmark
and Columbia. Mrs. Milhous
will visit friends in Augusta, Qa. before
returning home.
Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Lipscomb and
Miss Sara Lipscomb of Asbury spent
Saturday in Union with friends. Mrs.
Lipscomb is pleasantly remembered
here as Miss Sallie Jones.
Miss Louise Murphy has many
friends in Union and throughout the
State who will be pleased to hear that
she is recovering from a recent serious
illness and will soon be able to
visit relatives in Union.
Rev. L. L. Wagnon went t^Chester
Tuesday afternoon and retuirod Wednesday,
bringing his mother, Mrs. L.
T. Wagnon, with him. Mrs. Wagnon
has been in the hospital several weeks
for treatment and has completely recovered.
At a meeting of the Union chamber
of commerce held Wednesday evening
it was decided to inaugurate a movement
amQng the merchants here to
exchange goods for cotton. A meeting
is to be held Thursday night, November
12, to fix the prpice at which
the merchants would take cotton in
exchange for goods. All members of
the body are urged to attend.
