The cost of paint is about two-fifths and the work three-fifths. Paint won't come-down in a hurry too-many jobs put-off. Men are waiting for $2 or $3; they don't know it; they think they are waiting for $20 or $25. Why don't men use their heads? ST<) X E-J ON ES H A R1) W A R E CO. COTTON?Let Us Eliminate It. We should entirely eliminate cotton planting in South Carolina next year. I know that this seems to be a very radical and to many a foolish proposition. When the idea was first men tioneci to me I thought it very extreme to say the least of it. If we do continue to raise cotton it will be ten years before we see normal conditions again. There are more than thirty states in the union where cotton is not grown. People there live and enjoy a greater prosperity than we do. Why can't we do likewise? In next week's Times 1 propose telling you "more about this. The logical thing to do is to entirely eliminate cotton planting for one year. I will prove this to you in next issue of this paper. A. G. KENNEDY, Secretary Chamber of Commerce. ANNOUNCEMENT We announce to the public that Keller's Drug Store has been purchased by us and will be opened November 1 as "The People's Drug Store."
