CROSS KEYS Cross Keys, March 9?The weather Lc is so changeable that out-of-door cl< work is almost at a stand-still. Farmers with hired help as well as those j( who are able to do their own work, y, are placed at a disadvantage. We are p, not sure we have done the right thine j$. when we start a team to town for fear it will rain or snow before they get home. One inspired writer said y, that "a righteous man regardeth the y, life of his beast." I am not corn- o; _ 1 _i iL. i.1 T 1 1 piHimnjj ui mi' weainer. i nave learned from experience that the better ?| Why is to make the best of everything we can as it comes along. This reminds me of an incident that occurred in this community once; a gentleman had made his arrangements to do a certain thing, and started out c, with his wagon and team, but had to g, stop on account of some accident, and u after worrying over his trouble remarked that the days were as plentiful as they ever were, and fell down jr in an unconscious condition, and died in a very short while afterward. So Ti I for one am trying to adopt the scripture, "Godliness with content- Ci ment is great gain." We are larp-ely what we purpose to be in this life, and our reward in the world to come St is just what me make it here. For we are free to choose either the right way, or the wrong way, and our re- je ward will be accordingly. ^ A gentlemen living near Enorec ~j went to Union last Saturday and ct while there purchased four quarts of tj. medicine and on his return home had occasion to stop a few minutes at Wilburn & Son's store at Cross Keys, ^ and while there he was in the store and some one relieved him of his package; now if every voter in Union county had been able to see as I saw, or had voted as I did this gentleman would have carried more money home or he would have been a violator of the law. I think that this thief should be brought to justice, and given the limit of the law. Our roads are in need of such help and Captain Lawson would see that it was used to advantage both to the individual and c' to the county. Cold? are very common and a few L cases of griope are reported. Our O familv nhivii-inn Hp (Inn T \Tpwp.1.. TV has had to change horses to enable R him to rret around to his patients. D Mr. Ed.
