Mr. Godbee and hi wife were together and the divorce< woman a few feet away. Withou warning Mrs. Edna Perkins Godhci ? opened a handbag and, taking there from a heavy revolver, fired upoi her former husband. She fired threi shots, all of which took effect, killinj him instantly. She then tuurned he: weapon upon Mrs. Godbee, inflicting three dangerous wounds. After the shooting Mrs. Edna Per. kins Godbee repaced the revolver ii her handbag and walked quietly away. She was later arrested at hei home and held without bail. She re. fused to make a statement other thar that she was satisfied with the sue. cess of her act. Godbee was a member of the boarc of commissioners of Jenkins county and had been active in politics.
