FRIEDMAN BAGS BIG FEE FROM PATIENT IN ATLANTA Atlanta, June 18.?While the U. S. government was damning him with faint praise and the city health authorities of New York were passing ordinances against him, Dr. F. F. Friedmann, of turtle serum fame visited Atlanta secretly a few days ago and personally administered his treatment to the son of a prominent Atlanta family, receiving a large sum of money for so doing, and leaving Atlanta on the next train without even the watchful eyes of the newspaper reporters so much as lighting on him going or coming. Mr. Hervie Whitlock, of Chester, was in the city for a few days this week. SAVANNAH DOCTOR IS MURDERED Young Widow Shoots Dr. Gaf Brinkley and Kills Self Savanah, Ga., June 16.?Dr. Gujr O. Brinkley, a prominent young phy? sician of this city, was killed this afternoon by Mrs. Eugene H. Whisnant, formerly Miss Katie Kittles^ who then turned her weapon, a 3? calibre Colt automatic revolver, oijj uerseu, iaiung ueaa across tne deafV body of Dr. Brinkley, with a bullet in her brain. The young woman, who was a widow, went to the office of Dr. Brinkley, accompanied by a woman companion, whose name has not been ascertained. Mrs. Whisnant and the doctor went into the private office and the other woman remained in the outer office, leaving hastily when the shooting began. A few minutes after Dr. Brinkley and Mrs. Whisenant entered the oft, ce, the firing began and the door opened and Dr. Brinkley ruehed Out, followed by Mrs. Whisnant, Who Was steadily firing upon him. Dr. Brinkley called to a maid servant to get the police and the woman ran for help. Meantime Mrs. Whisnant pusT sued the doctor to the porch and back into the office, firing upon him all the time, Her sixth shot entered the physician's heart, causing death. Dr. Brinkley was a Virginian, coming to Savannah from Suffolk, sever* al years ago. He was unmarried, and was prominent in business and social circles. His slayer was about 27 or 28 years old, slim, with dark, brown eyes and hair. She was married to Whisnant in Charlotte, N. C., in 1906 While he was ill with typhoid fever, from which he afterward died.
