The farmers around here are quite busy planting their crops while the ground is dry. Misses Lillie Fowler and Bemice | Bailey, both of Mt. Tabor, spent Wednesday with Mrs. T. F. Adams. Miss Pearle Adams spent Wednesday night with Mrs. Boyd Farr. Misses Gertrude and Bemice Orr of Adamsburg spent Saturday with the Misses Ivey's. Mr. Sewel Scales spent Sunday with relatives at Monarch. Miss Lillie Fowler spent Sunday night with Miss Bernice Smith. Mrs. J. B. Tracy, of Lockhart, spent Saturday night with her sister, Mrs. J. A. Orr. Little Miss Maggie Bailey spent the week-end with Mrs. Mary Cudd. Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Scales and Messrs F. M. Adams, R. L. Nance and I. S. Ivey spent Sunday afternoon with Mr. J. A. Orr, who is quit* sick. Misses Bernice, Annie and Gertrude Orr spent Sunday with Miss Nolah Scales. Miss Belle Gregory and Mrs. J. D. Hancock spent Sunday with Miss Elizabeth Tracy, who had a stroke of paralysis Sunday morning. Rev. J. L. Hodges filled his regular appointment at Philippi, Sunday and preached an excellent sermon. There was a large crowd out to hear Mr. Hodges. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Vaughn and family spent Sunday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. N. C. Palmer. Mr. George Inman, of Adamsburg,! spent Sunday with relatives at Mon-1 arch. M iss Ruth Farr, of Monarch, spent the week-end with relatives at Adamsburg. Mr. and Mrs. L. F.
