The best niformation we hare of imounts subscribed to date is as folows: Pee Dee Presbytery $25,360.00 Piedmont Presbytery 12,590.00 Enoree Presbytery 47,706.00 Bethel Presbytery 37,916.00 3. Carolina Presbytery 13,006.00 flarmony Presbytery 20,141.00 Charleston Presbytery 23,064.00 Special, 3,000.00 $182,773.00 From this it will be seen that we leed $17,227.00 to complete the fund :o $200,000.00. It would be well for I is to raise at least $20,000.00 more. | The Committee is of the firm con /iction that the balance can be raised ind will be raised. We appreciate that the Church is on trial, that we ire undergoing a test. We are conscious that the question is being raised, "Can we make good?" We know there are tremendous issues at stake and that we can not afford to fail. While it may cost much to succeed it will cost a thousand limes more to fail. We not only must succeed, but we must do so soon. Further, we have difraed churches by counties and are Isking one man to become responsi- 1 jle for seeing all the churches in a :ounty and also to raise a certain imount within the county. Again, ] ;hese men are requested to make ;heir canvass at the same time, viz., ;h second week in this month. These ^ eaders of the canvass will not, in svery case, do all the soliciting but nay call to their aid any persons ;hey choose whom they can get.
