Beautiful Japanese Tea. < Jonesvillc, November 26.?A delightful Japanese tea was given by IJr- ami Mrs. Chambersj> to their friends Friday evening I < November 23. The decorations. and costumes were ornamental a The piazza was lighted with Jap- t anese lanterns. As we entered the I hall we found similar decorations, j 1 on our left was a beautiful Japa-lt nesc tea booth decorated with s large Japanese umbrella for top. jv and 011 the side rough Jap-ij nesc paper and lanterns. Here tea s and wafers were served the guest.; ? The ttoor was covered with sofa14 pillows upon which the guest were v- . requested to make themselves comfortable as there were 110 chairs, eajrh guest securing a pillow proceeded to do justice to the occas- fl ion. There was much merriment, f as it was very awkward at first, being Japs. Under each pillow was was a Jap fan. The young men securing same found the name of; his partner. They were/ served j . tea and wafers at the booth, with each run of tra wac -i rVinrl - ? 1- " >v" """ " with number. The lucky number 23 was served to Miss May Free ? who won a lovely pair of Jananesc c slippers: and number 13 the booby c. held by Lawrence Southard drew' ja Japanese doll: after which n we posed for our photos bv ii flash light. The ladies next hunted Japanese handkerchieefs,; , securing partners for sup-1 _ per. We were then admitted to the] dining room.
