Wedding ;it Voliec. Hendquartcra.
On Tuesday two couples came in
from BnlTalo bent on getting married.
I'hey wont to Mrs. Briggs home and
a minister was sent for. In the
meantime the mother of one of the
*';rls, a little tot of HI, hud got or. to
he racket and telephoned up to police
headquarters to put a stop to her
laughter's marriage and hold her until
she came. The police went in
just after the minister, and .when
they made their business known, the
minister refused to marry either
couplo. The party was escorted to
polios headquarters to await the arrival
of the irate parent, in the meantime
the ot her couplo wero very much
put out about their calculations, also
being frustrated They sent for the
-dieriff to marry them, but he begged
to he excused as he wus a little green
in that business. Finally Mr. J. M.
Hen net t came to their rc'cuo by announcing
that ho was a notary public
and would marry them. They
readily accepted his offer and were
made man and wife at police headquarters.
The couplo who succeeded
in getting married aro Mr. Frank Sell
to Miss Mary Hodge. The couple
that, didn't make it, are Henry Russ
ana ijiiiy ittOUlil. The irate mother
arrived later ncd took her daughter
home with her.
