The Sheriff of Cherokre telegraphed that he had a man answering the discription published of Mussand Sheriff &inde. steadily identitied him and has him now in safe keeping again. The Hinson Case. The Jim Hinson case came up before the Mayor's Court Tuesday. Hinson was charged with drunk and disorderly, carrying concealed knucks and resisting an officer. He was found cuiltv and Hftnt?no?d 4lt"? and costs as follows: Drunk and disor- I derly $5, carrying concealed knucks ' $20, resisting on officer $10. This is the man which Policeman May struck with his billy while endeavoring to take him to jail, about whioh there has been so much said by outsido V parties. C Car Off. K Wednesday afternoon No. 02, the 1 down freight, derailed a freight car at tho northern switch. A break henm became loose and finally dropped on the track a mile or so i above the station, from that point it ^ dragged until the switch near the tank was reuehed, when it caught between the two t racks and threw tho cars off the track, litterally tearing -J up the trucks and bending the stout Iron axle. The accident delayed the down passenger train about 10 minutes. ? iS Eminent Singer Coming. 1 Sarah Macdonald Sheridan, of Atlanta, the eminent contralto, will be in Union Monday night, February 11th, and will sing at the Opera House under the auspices of the Union Library Association. The press, everywhere that Mrs. Sheridan has sang, are unani noons in the most glowing tributes of praise of her wonderful voice. The Rome, Ga., Tribune says: "No Southern woman ever achieved a arTeater musical triumph in a Southern city than did Mrs. Sarah Macdonald Sheiidan last Thursday night in Atlanta. The fair vocalist never sang more brilliantly, and her rich contralto voice filled the Grand Opera House with melody that delighted every lover of music. The applause was great; but the tloral tributes were more gorgeous. Mrs. Sheridan was gowned in a beautiful pink silk with brocaded roses. See Here Spartanburg!
