Hunter, of Buncomb Co , Sorth Carolina, a carpenter who lias been employed at the Knitting Mill, bas been occupying a house in tlie yard of the Hix House, with his wife and]rmother. He could read this print readily. Ho says he wore glasses awhile during the war but lias not worn them for a number of year?. Mr. Means is one of Union Coun-. ty's most highly respected and substantial citizens. There is great excitement in he town over the bold robbery, and ivory effort will bo made to capture ho thieves. They effected entrance o the stores by first breaking into a dacksmith shop and getting tools for hat purpose. They also mado an ittempt to enter the store of J. L. dcWhlrter, and the post office, but rom somo reason abandoned their rnrpose. Mr. McWhirtor found an ixe sticking in his door when he >pcned it yesterday morning, showing that the burglars must have been larmcd and left hurriedly before efecting an entrance. It seems that a man professing to ie a hipnotist has been hanging round Jonesvillo for several days. Ie left a day or so ago saying ho was oing to work on a farm, and Vedncsday evening fivo strange .'bite men canio into the town, and b is reported that they were seen at ho water tank conversing together Veducsday evening, they have disppeared and have not been seen since. L lever ear has been stolen from the ailroad tool house, and the thieves, 10 doubt made their escape on it. An old man living near the raiload above Jonesvillo heard a lever ar pass his house about 2 o'clock 'hursday morning, which no doubt arried tho robbers. The lever car ras found Thursday morning by uporvisor Gillson's track force at ho 7d milo post near the east end of he Glendalo swith. It had been ftcd from the track, and tho robbers ad proceeded on foot. Mr. Gillson ays that four white men came by ho carnp3 on tho Lockhart road and sked for something to eat, Wedncsay. These nro no doubt tho same artios who arrived at Jonesvillo later a tho evening. It ought not to be a ,ard matter to catch the thieves. Mr. Allman had four or five hunred dollars in his safe on deposit, 'liich was in a pigeon hole that the urglars overlooked.
