The local constable weat to arrest hint, and Duncan toid him that he would not be taken to Clarksville as tho deceased's relatives lived there and ho didn't cousider that his ' life would be safe. lie said he was willing to surrender if the constable would tako him to Paris aud the constable agreed. They gpt ou a freight train and started to this city, but the conductor made tlieni get otf, f it being positively forbidden by the Texas and Pncific railway company for the freight trains to carry pastougers. The constable then agreed to guard him at Do'roit until the examining trial was held.
