Taxes Must Be Paid.
Last week we copied an interview
of Governor Evans in which the
Governor stated that there would be
no general extension of the time te
pay taxes this yeur. That opinion
has been confirmod by a letter from
Comptroller Goneral Norton, just
received bv the Treasurer of our
County. It is supposed that copies
were also sent to the Treasurers of
other Counties.
The letter reads jh follows:

custom of extending the time for the
collection of taxes without Penalty
has prevailed to such an c:Jent t' t

be no extension of the time for the

no sufficient reason appears for such
extension.
