Hunter Ward, of Paris, Ky., an expert horse? man, and recognised as one of the best judges in America, has been se? cured by the management of the Co? lumbia Horse Show Association, for the show to be held in this city April 21. 22 and 23. Mr. Ward, who is experienced in judging all (lasses of horses, closed negotiations with Col. Richard Single? ton today by wire, and is expected here the latter part of the week. Mr. D. F. Etird, manager of the Columbia Horse Show, is now at? tending a similar show in Darlington, and expects to gain some new ideas relative to the management of such affairs for use here. Word received from Mr. Efird in? dicates intense interest in the coming show here, and It is believed that Dar? lington, Sumter, and many cities of the State will be represented her? by lovers of horse flesh, when the gates open at the Fair Grounds.
