That Burning Question "HOW CAN I GET AND KEEP IN THE LEAD?" TO-DAY the second publication of names in The Watchman and Southron, The Item and Merchants contest is made. Over one-third of the ladies nominated have made an advance since the last publi? cation of names and a number of candidates whose standing remains at the 5,000 mark today have have had votes cast for them since the count was made for the list below. A great number of people are saving the free votes out of each issue of the paper and are voting them for friends whose names are in the contest. Through the support of their friends and the direct work of the candidates themselves, the voting has been exceptionally heavy the past few days for this stage of the contest. The next publication of names will be made on Tuesday. The Contestants and How They Stand. Until further notice no candidate will be allowed to cast for publication more subscription ballots for any one count than will place her total 5,000 ahead of the leader of the last publication of names. This rule does not apply to the vote coupons, as many of these in addition may be cast as can be secured. This rule will be removed later in the contest. Mstrtot n ?lenff On.
