The big bazaar which continued through Wednesday and Thursday waa a big success, the most sanguine hopes of the ladies of the Aid So? ciety of Temple Sinai being realized and the result being exceedingly gratifying to all of those engaged in the undertaking. The Ladies' Aid Society of Temple Slnal wishes to thank their many friends who aided them in getting up and managing the bazaar and who contributed towards its success. The society also wishes to express Its ap? preciation to the public who attended the bazaar and 30 freely patronized. The persons who were fortunate as to draw the lucky numbers and win the many prizes offered by those who engineered the bazaar were: Miss Mary Wilson was voted the sannt popular lady and received a beautiful lingerie set Mr. C. P. Exum was fortunate in being considered the most popular Elk, for thereby he received two pair of silk pajamas. The two beautiful hand worked center pieces were won by Mrs. R. D. Lee and Mrs. Isaac Schwartz. Moat strangely the two dolls went to two gentlemen, Mr. W. L White head winning the larger and more beautiful doll and set of doll furnish? ings, while Mr. Anderson won the Other beautiful doll. PEN" DISPENSARY MONDAY. ? i ? <rn Express Compuny to Deliver skey Packages from Special l .'ice on East Liberty Street. the Dally Item, Dec. 15. >lte the dispensary law which orce at the present time, a reg? ular dispensary for the delivery of packages of whiskey will he opened Monday morning bright and early at No. 3 E. Liberty street and will be conducted at .that place from then on to the first of the new year. The dispensary Is to be opened by the Southern Express Company for the purpose of handling for delivery the many packages of liquor which come In about Christmas time, pack? ages the contest of which are seem? ingly needlul to their owners for put? ting them Into the proper Christmas frame of mind. The special office, or "dispensary office" as it Is called by the express people, will from Mon? day on to the first of the year handle all packages of whiskey that are shipped Into their local office. As there are so many of these packages It was found necessary several years ago to separate the kinds of packages and each Christmas since a special office has been opened about this time for the handling of whl3key ship? ments. The chief reason for doing this Is that ladles may not be inconvenienced when they come to the express office to send packages off or to inquire or give directions about packages sent to them. Most of the receivers of the whiskey packages are negroes, and the ladies, if they visit the ex? press office, do not have to come in' contact with or be crowded by these when the special office Is established. It was reported today that the whiskey shipments up to the present time this year were about the same as last year and the year before, despite the poor price of cotton and the seem? ing hard times. Of course these shipments are expected to be unusual? ly large during the next two weeks during the holiday season. County Teachers' Examination.
