A Very Important Matter. The attention of our readers is invited to the new advertisement of O'Donnell & Co. The feature of the advertisement is an ex? tract from the American Journal of Health in reference to food adulteration in which spe? cial stress is laid oo the daily danger from impure flour. This journal is one of the highest class and most reliable published io thia country, and has tbe urqualified en? dorsement and tbrongh confidence of the members of the medical profession the coun? try over. In the article in question Melbourne's flour is cited as the purest and best brand on the market aod the flour that can be ueed without fear by housekeepers who are careful to select? ing what they place on tbair tables. The endorsement coming from the source it does, merits the consideration of flour consumers and the article should be read with care. O'Donnell & Co., have sold Millboorne's flour for years and have sold comparatively littie of other brands South Carolina Office-Seekers in Washington. ^Special to The Colombia Register J Washington, Jan. 23 -The last few days have "aus* quite an influx of South Caro? lin" . ~nl ns to this city. B Johnston, the coostestaDt for a eeat in congress from tbat district, Mr. Webster hHS consented to defer to Col. John? ston in that matter. The rivalry for the place is so intense that it is supposed that no action will be taken in regard to the matter till Webster is confirmed as collector and the congressional contest for the seventh district i? determined, lest it militate against the in? terest ol one of these gentlemen who will be responsible for the appointment.
