Full ci courage and hope, he started out on his long journey to strike out for him? self in a new world. The horns prayers followed him. As he went he fell into company with older men. They liked him for his frank manners aud hts manly independence. As they journeyed together they stop? ped for a Sabbath in aborder town. On the morning of the Sabbath oue of his fellow travellers said to him. 'Como, let us be off for a drive and *1\<said the ycung man, 'I am going to cb-urc??, 1 hare been brought up to keep ?fve Sabbath, and I have promised my mother to keep on in that way.' His road acquaintance looked at him for a moment, and then slapping him on the shoulder, said : .Right, my boy. I began in that way. I wish I had kept on. Young man you will do. Stick to your bring? ing up and your mother's words, and you will win.' The boy went io church, all honor to him, in that far-away place, and among such n eu. His companions had their drive, but the boy gained their confi? dence and won their respect by his man? ly avowal of sacred obligations. Al? ready success is smiling upon thc young man. There is no lack of places for him.-Christian Weekly. Never Satisfied. Nobody is satisfied in this world. If a legacy is left a man, he regrets that it is not larger. If he finds a sum of money, he searches the ground for more. If he is elected to some high office, he wishes a better one. If he is rich and wants for nothing, he strives for more wealth If he is a single man, he is looking for a wife ; aud if married, for childreu. Of thise lattir blessings some men have too many, some too few, some none at all. Man is never satisfied. An interesting exhibition of true Christian principle is reported from Constantinople in the case of an Armenian converted to evangelical faith. He was employed in a place where work on Sunday was a fixed rule. lu the general stagnation of business, to give up his place was to eudurc a slow starvation. The poor man wrestled with his conscience for some time, pleaded with his employers without avail, and at last decided that, for the sake of bis own spiritual life, he must, at any cost, cease working on the Sab? bath. He offered his employers thc money necessary to bite a mao in Lis place for Sabbath work. They accepted his offer, provided he would also per? mit his salary to bc cut down ?10 per month. Ile accepted the bard terms, and now his face is seen, bright and smiling, at service every Sunday. Meantime his employers, at first calling him a fool for his pains, are filled with wonder at sering a man who is willing to sacrifice mouey in order to be free to worship God. It has always been held that the most pungent and effective preaching is the expression of individual experience.
