The report t contains a strong recommendation h against the latter. The Rev. Charles Noyes Tyncell, S. T. D., of Williams- t port, Pa., secretary of the commis- I sion, in transmitting the report, says e that whole effort of the commission d has been to present to the country a t vital message in as concise form as t possible. c "Even a cursory glance at condi- t tions in the average American home v reveals evidence sufficient to war- t rant the most careful study of those I influences now affecting these homes from the standpoint of morals and religion," the report continues. "The attitude toward youth, even more 1 than the attitude of the youth, will scaicely bear severe scrutiny. "We touch the root of our family problem when we point to the lack i< of religion in the home. We c CHA nanagement gives assurance that everything will be in readiness for ;he opening day and no doubt visions will be both pleased and surprised at what has been accomplished since the close of the last State fair. Educational exhibits this year will be nuch more extensive than in the past, ncluding a mammoth display fiom :he United States Department of Agriculture . Live stock and poultry exhibits will be more numerous, ivhile such interest has been displayed n the woman's department that five :housand square feet will be necessary to accommodate these dainty displays. Leading manufacturers of parm machinery are intensely interested in the State fair and ten acres tf ground will be devoted to displays jf modern farm machineiy. The amusement program of the state fair will lie the most elaborate ever presented in South Carolina. It ivill include fast harness and run ling races daily, hand concerts, free circus acts, and each night a stupendous display of fireworks. On the Foy Plaza the famous Johnny J. Fones Shows will afford entertainment of the highest class. As an extraordinary feature professional ruto races will be staged the closing lay, Saturday, October 28. Arrangements have been made for the appearance of Sig Haugdahl, champion lirt track driver of the world. Other loted dirt track demons will compete :'or the liberal prizes and records are sure to be shattered that day. On the opening day of the fair, adies will be admitted without charge. ->n this day will occur the laying of he corner stone of the new woman's juilding. Elaborate ceremonies will mark this event.
