Florence, Sept. 10.?The loveliest social event of the season was the al fresco wedding of Miss Ella Rus-1 sell Poston, of Johnsonville, and Carl Hyman, of Pamplico, Thursday even-, ing at 8 o'clock, at the bride's beau-, tiful suburban home at Johnsonville. The natural beauty of the spacious lawn was enhanced by the artistic1 placing of long-leaf pines entwined j with Southern smilax and garlands of white roses. The September moon j was in its full and its soft light, blended with artificial lights hidden among the green boughs, transforming the scene into a veritable fairy garden. Preceding the ceremony a musical program was rendered by Romrne's Orchestra, of Florence. Mrs. W. G. j Smith, of Orangeburg, an aunt of the bride, sang sweetly Sanderson's; "Until," With the fir t strains of; the wedding march the two little ribbon girls, Jacqueline Hyman and J Margaret Powell, opened the gate? for the wedding party, which proceeded as follows: First came the ushers, J.. M. Russell and Dr. R. L. Cockfield, Jack Hyman and Lee Coleman, who entered and took their places under the canopy of pines. Mrs. Robert Gregg, of Columbia, dame of honor, came next, wearing an ex-. quisite gown of Harding blue lace and Canton crepe, and carrying pink asters and ferns. Then came the matrons of honor, Mrs. S. B. Poston and Mrs. James Russell, mother and aunt of the bride, each wearing hand- : some gowns of black lace and carry-1 ing bouquets of lavender asteis. The maid of honor, Miss Lucia Poston. younger sister of the bride, followed, wearing a lovely gown of Ameri- j can Beauty changeable taffeta and lace, carrying deep, pink asters. Next came the little , ring-bearer, Harriet Cockfield, with: the ring on a dainty little sheperdess . crook. The bride then approached on the | arm of her father, S. B. Poston, who gave her in marriage, and met the j groom with his best man, Dr. L. B. Hyman, of Latta. The ring cere- j mony was used, the Rev. W. R. Way, j beloved former pastor of the bride, officiating. The dainty bride was lovely in a gown of rich duchess satin, en train with iridescent panels. Her veil was arranged in coronet effect with orange blossoms, and her bouquet was a; shower of bride roses and valley lilies. J A reception was held on the lawn ( after the ceremony 500 or more guests being present. Dr. and Mrs. Eaddy and Dr. and Mrs. Hyman received the guests at the gate and Mrs. R. B. W. Dixon showed them to the receiving line, which was com- j posed of the bride and groom, the parents of the bride, the parents of the groom, the bridal party and the house guests of the bride. Mr. and Mrs. Elting Chapman ushered the guests through the gate of the latticed enclosure, where block ice cream anil cake in green and white were served by a bevy of young girls. Punch was served from a vine-colored arbor by the Misses Dean Russell, Belle Poston, May Hyman, Louise Poston and Doris Rollins. At the gate Miss Elizabeth ! DuRant presented each with little green and white bags of rice. The bride's register was presided over by Miss Blakely. Late in the evening Mr. and Mrs. Hyman left in their car for an extended tour which will take in Miami and other points in Florida. She wore a handsome going-away suit of tan and brown velour de laine with accessories to match. On their return the young couple will make their home at Pamplico. \ The bride is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Poston and is one of South Carolina's most popular young women.
