Tolley during the illness of Mr. P. A. Tolley, who is now under treatment in the Kelley Sanatarium. t On Wednesday evening last, Mr. D. J. Epps entertained a number of his friends with one of his famous "Pine bark stews." Those present were: Messrs LeRoy Lee, A. C. Hinds, H. 0. Welch, M. A. Shuler and Dr. F. O. Lentz. The sacriment of the Lord's supper wtH be celebrated at the Presbyterian church here Sunday morning. Services preparatory to this sacred ordinance will be held Friday night at 7:30. Weissinger and her daughter, Miss Helen Weissinger of Blackville, who have been spending the holidays with the former's sister, Mrs. W. V. BrocJdngton returned to their home on Tuesday. Mr. T. L. Weissinger came over to sp^nd Christmas day. i ? Miss Dolly McFadden was the guest of honor at a dinner-party given by her sister, Mrs. H. L. Prosser. Covers were laid for six and a delightful course dinner was served at six o'clock. Those present were: Blisses Rheta Derrick, Elizabeth Stackley, Annie Frierson, Serena Lee and Dolly McFadden. On Thursday afternoon last, Mrs. J. H. McFadden entertained the members of her Sunday school class and a few of their friends. The guests stuck peanuts for amusement, little Miss Mildred Patrick received thex prize, a book. After an hour of fun the hostess served "Silly-bub" and cake. On Friday afternoon last, Mrs. P. 0. Arrowsmith entertained for Mrs. W. N. Jacobs, with two tables of bridge. During the afternoon the hostess served refreshments. Those present were: Mesdames W. N. Jacobs and H. L. Ellington of Georgetown, L. P. Arrowsmith of Florence, M. L. Allen, W. I. Nexsen, T. E. Arrowsmith and W. C. Claiborne.
