We hope that Kingstree's expansion will be noticeable in future as a result of the support given the constitutional amendment affecting our plan ?f assessment and taxation. We will aow be given an opportunity to do the right thing?pave our streets and extend our sidewalks. All along we have regarded those folks around Cape Cod, Buzzard Bay and Plymouth Rock, in Massachusetts as a singularly queer lot. There were several which vitally affect this town and county, and there was some disappointment felt by the voters because no tickets were provided this county for us in support of the i amendments. The students at Clemson College have organized a Correspondence Club. The purpose of the Club, writes Cadet M. B. OT>ryon, who has volunteered to correspond for The County Record, is to give some news ach week to the people of the various Counties concerning the students odf their respective Counties. A student from almost every County in the atate has volunteered to correspond for his local paper. This may be the begining of a journalistic career of aome editor who may become famous. "Who can tell ? V PREMIUM AWARDS. Williamsburg County Fair Held November 9, 10, 11, 12. I The Fifth Annual Fair of the Williamsburg County Fair Association held November 9, 10, 11 and 12 was in many respects the best' ever held in Williamsburg County. The attendance was not as good as usual owing to the rain that fell Thursday, keeping manv Deople home who intended isiting the fair, but the exhibits on the whole were the best ever d at the county fair and we trust that they will continue to improve from year to year. The success of the fair was due in great part to the splendid spirit of o-operation manifested in it from the beginning by the Spuerintendents of the different departments and their assistants and committees. The management is grateful to them for their untiring services rendered unselfishly in the interest of the Association, n snirit nf <v>-oo no ration toerath ?r with the interest manifested by ex-lubitors is the kind to make anything they undertake a success. Fiddlers Convention, Tuesday Chief of Police Ward won 1st prize, a pair of Howard and Foster shoes given by Kingtree Dry Goods Co. L. D. Clark won 2nd prize, a Stetson hat given by David Silverman. Thomas Chandler won 3rd prize, a pair of Kid Gloves given by MoGill Brothers. Tournament, Wednesday Arthur McCullough won 1st prize, saddle and bridle by Rodgers & Rodgers. McFadden won 2nd prize, Blanket or Robe, P. 0. Arrowsnuth. McGill won 3rd prize, five dollars in jgold by Truluck-King Co. 1 Thursday, School Day, Parade Hemingway won 1st prize, $50.
