Burgess, whose husband died suddenly in that city several iveeks ago. At the time of Mr. Burgess' death his wife was here with her people, and this is her first trip ? hack to Savannah since his death.. ^ * ? The County Record acknowledges kvith appreciative thanks an invitation from Miss James Leora Gamble to _ attend commencement exercises of the graduating class of Winthrop College, Rock Hill, S. The % new equipment of the Kingstree Drug Co. is not only a credit to the firm. ^ but speaks in no uncertain terms for * the progress of the town. * o I. li The report of the general board of A the Baptist State convention of South ii Carolina to the Southern Baptist con- fi vention showed that from May 1st of S last year to May 1st of this year the _ total sum of $1,262,000.00 has been paid in cash on the subscription to the 75 Million campaign. More than a million of this sum was paid from p December 1, 1919 to May 1, 1920. ^ The funds thus paid were divided in " * . A XI a proportionate way oeiween me a causes of State, Home and Foreign Missions, education in Baptist schools and colleges in South Carolina, and 0] in the theological seminaries and mis- j, sionary training schools of the Southern Baptist convention. Liberal sums were also paid to the Connie Maxwell Orphanage, Greenwood; to the Bap- ^ tist Hospital in Columbia; to the Board of Ministerial Education, and ^ to the Board of Aged Minister's Relief.
