The machine i; different in design from the old slicer and is the first one of its kind to b used in Kingstree. o FIRE FIGHTING APPARATUS Kingstree to Have an Equipmen Second to none. The town council has placed an or der for a fire fighting machine tha is second to none when it comes t efficiency and design. It is a motor pump outfit, equippe with ladders, hose and other fire fight ing apparatus. When the town water is scarce, o if a fire should break out at a tim when the town pumpucould not be pu into immediate operation, this net motor truck-pump combination ma; be taken to the river, connected wit the river, the pump started, and wit a pressure something like 400 pound to the square inch, will furnish wate as far as the hose will reach at th rate of 325 gallons to the-minute. Charleston, Sumter, Orangebur and other cities are equipped wit similar apparatus, though on a large scale. The machine purchased for th Kingstree fire department is said t be priced at $9,250.00, and is capabl of coping with any fire that migh happen within the limits of the towT I o Warehouse W rinklets i Mr. W.
