DR. J. A. SCOTT Bl'RIED Funeral of Beloved Fairfield Physician Held at Monticello. The funeial service of Dr. John Austin Scott, prominent physician of Fairfield county, v ho died Monday in a Columbia hospital, were held Tuesday of last week in the Monticello Methodist church. The services were attended by the relatives of Dr. Scott and many friends from all sections of the county who came to pay a last tribute to this genial physician, whose ? faithfulness and good cheei had won for him the admiration and respect of all who knew him. The services were conducted by Dr. Scott's pastor and r?>r?nnjil friend, the Rev. John Isenhower, who was assisted by the Rev. C. E. Burts, D. D., of Columbia. Dr. Scott was in his 67th year and had been a resident of Monticello for 20 years. His practice was one of the largest in this section and carried him to ai' parts of the county. He was actively engaged in the pursuit of his practice until practically one monJi beiore the time of his death. Dr. Scott was a faithful member of the Monticello Baptist church and was devoted to his religion. He was j a loyal citizen and was intensely in-! terested iri public affairs. Aside from his widow, who was. Miss Belle Holmes, of Barnwell, were 1 12 grandchildren, Dr. Scott is surviv-! ed by the following sons and daught ers: w'. F. Scott, of Johnson; H. H. Buice, of Orlando, F1&. o New Enterprises Columbia, Nov. 7.?Fidelity i^arni and Trust Company, of Hemingway, Williamsburg county, was commissioned by the secretary of State with a proposed capital stock of $400,000, of which $325,00 is to be subscribed at present the petitioners being W. C. Hemingway G.S. Hemingway and W. C. Rollins all of Hemingway. The j company intends to do a general realty and investment business.
