On Sunday, in company with a few friends and the Rev J C Collum, < Mr Tallevast left his home on the j Black river road and went to Mor- " risville, the home of his intended bride, where the ceremony was performed by Mr Callum, pastor of the j First Baptist church in Georgetown, at 3:30 o'clock. Immediately after j the ceremony the contracting par-1 ties, with the friends who had gone up to witness the marriage, left for Georgetown. After reaching the home of Mr Tallevast a magnicent 6 o'clock dinner was served to a few guests. The coldest weather in 40 years has been experienced in Kingstree the past week, the thermometer going as low as 18 degrees below freezing, or only 8 degrees above zero. About 2 inches of snow fell Saturday nigh', a portion of which still remains upon the ground. A slight moderation in temperature occurred yesterday, but during the night the mercury again dropped to 8 degrees helow freeziner. Wood and coal are scarce; water pipes are frozen up all over town and our citizens are passing through an unusual midwinter experience. Coal on tbe Way Here. HOME AND CONTENTS BURNED )r Frier son's Residence Destroyed List Sunday Night The handsome home of l)r D }' ^rierson,located on the eastern edge >f Kingstree, near that of his fathern-law, Mr James Epps, was desroyed about midnight Sunday night >y fire, with practically none of its ontents being saved. The fire originated from the kitchen flue, it is laid. The residence was completed ibout three years ago. when Dr irierson retired from active connecion with the Frierson drug store in Charleston, and removed his family ;o this place. The Record is informed that there was no insurance on he building or its contents. There vas no way of fighting the flames >ffective!y,and the building, beinga rrame structure, was rapidly con;umed. The loss is estimated at heween $7,000 and $10,000.
