have been appointed delegates to the
127th annual council of the Episco
pal'church in South Carolina, to be
held at Cheraw May 8.
Evangelist D P Montgomery, who
conducted a successful revival at the
Baptist church here in March,is now
similarly engaged at Summerton,
with gratifying results.
A music pupils' recital will be
given in the Hemingway High school
auditorium tomorrow (Friday)evening
at 8:30 o'clock. The public is
cordially invited to attend.
Mrs S K Brockington and two
children of Florence spent several
days here last week with the former's
father, Mr A M Gordon, returning

Dr E T Kelley has gone to New
York to spend a month or six weeks
attending special lectures pertaining
to his profession. During Dr Kelley's
absence his practice will be
taken care of by Dr T S Hemingway
so far as may be agreeable to the
wishes of the former s patients.
Fire early Thursday morning destroyed
the residence of A J Prosser
at Johnsonville. The building was a
nice residence and was completed
only about two years ago. There
was some insurance on the building
and furniture. Mr Prosser's wife
and infant child died a few weeks ago
and Mr Prosser had been living in
the house alone,but was not at home
when the fire broke out.
We have never seen a more attractive
window in Kingstree than
that of the Farmers' Supply Co.

Yesterday afternoon James Thompson,
the little son of Mr and Mrs L
T Thompson, went away from school
with Mr Ed McClary's children over
Broad swamp and, with the thought- ?
lessness natural in children of his
age, forgot to tell his parents. The

at nighrfall, became very anxious A
and started a search for him. He
was finally found and brought home,
all safe. Mr and Mrs Thompson are
deeply grateful to their many friends .
