Earles, October 30:?Last Friday light Mis9 Floride McCelvey enterained the pupils of the higher grades i t a Hallowe'en party. Each pupil t'as criven the privilege of inviting ne guest. The party was given in ,n old vacant house on Mr G W Gamin's place. The house was decorated vith orange and green crepe paper. Tinning jack-o'-lanterns, black cats, wis and witches. The guests were net at the door by ghosts, who in he dim light of the jack-o'-lanterns noked quite spectral. Old Mother Vitch sat in a corner and told forunes. The guests were then invited nto another room to bob for apples, 'h/is caused a great deal of fun. Almost all the boys and not a few of he girls were able to win apples, ome at the expense of very wet aces and heads. After this, each :uest was given a string containing welve raisins. At a given signal veryone began to eat. The prize tas awarded to Mr Charlton Camin, as he swallowed raisins, string ,nd all in much less time than did ,ny of the others.
