Children's Department at Fair. In about a month now we are going to have our fair. Last year the children did not understand that they were to have a department of their own,but we want them to know it this time, and they must try to make this the prettiest and most interesting exhibit of all. Send it anyway. You may not tret a prize, but it will help to make your exhibit attractive. Last year a child sent a great Jacko-Lantern made from a pumpkin. There was no prize offered for Jacko-Lanterns, but nobody but the superintendent of the children's department knows how much happiness this big yellow, smiling face caused. Few of the many visitors passed on without stopping to greet him or smile back into his round happy face as he sat high among the ferns and flowers guarding the 1 treasures made by the little hands of the children of his county. We shall be disappointed if there is no Jack-o-Lantern at the fair this year, and we hope there will be many. A month is a good length of time to get up an exhibit?not too short, and not too long. Begin right now and have it finished by the eighth of November. Then be sure to come yourself, and come straight to your booth and see how your work compares with that of the other children of your county. We should be glad if the mothers or other women of the county would offer special prizes for the children. It may be a prize for something not on the premium list, or it may be an additional prize for something already there. I offer a dollar for the best dressed doll and fifty cents for the next best. This does not mean the material used, but the work on the clothes. Any kind of a doll will do?even a rag doll made for the occasion. I shall be glad to answer any questions or hear any suggestions. Arthur Runnells Moore, brother of Adjutant General W W Moore, died at a Columbia hospital last Saturday morning as the result of a fracture of the skull and other injuries received when an automobile in which he and several others were riding turned turtle near Barnwell late Friday afternoon. An operation after midnight failed to stay the hand of death. Harold A Simms, the other young Barnwell man, who was riding in the car with young Mr Moore and who also suffered injuries when the automobile turned over, is recovering. How Catarrh is Contracted.
