She is one of Williamsburg's charming young ladies and the only daughter of Mr and Mrs S E McCullough of Bryan. Her many charms and graces appealed to the lucky young man from Orangeburg in such strong terms he at once set out to woo and win her heart and hand. Last Saturday night soon after the last train oyer the Carolina, Atlantic Western road left the depot, the assistant agent, Mr Robert Wilson, had cut off the lights and started out of the office,when he was held up by a masked man and ordered to open the safe. With a pistol pointed at and held on him, he could do nothing else but obey,as bp was alone. Before he got the safe opened, however, Eugene Bradley, the deaf and dumb son of Mr Sam Bradley, rod up on his bicycle and was ordered to halt by a man standing outside of the door tq the office. Of course he could not hear the order to halt and rode right up to the door. The man outside gave the alarm to his pal and ran off. John, alias Monk Stevenson, who confessed that he was with the four negroes recently electrocuted at the State penitentiary when they killed John Q Lewis, an aged Confederate soldier, though he contended that he had nothing to do with the killing and only went with the others because he was led to believe that they were going off to gamble, was convicted in the court of general sessions at Chester Tuesday of murder with recommendation to mercy, which means that he will spend the rest of his life in the State prison. now 10 ITBVBDI iruup.
