Opening of Cedar Swamp School Next Thursday. Benson, September 21:?The next session of the Cedar Swamp Graded school begins Thursday, 30th inst. With this announcement goes a special request to all patrons: Please see that your children are in school ! the first day. We need them and | they need us. We want to be "set| tied down" by the following Mon! day, and to do this we must have the pupils as well as the teachers. Now, don't think that one child is a little less important than the rest | and keep him at home to start Monday, but send him along Thursday and Friday. ! The two "old" teachers need no introduction to our pood patrons. As many of us already know, we had to give up Miss DeVore. Miss Oliver, the new primary teacher, will have charge of the music also, and we are looking forward to having a large music class this year. After several years' work in the South, Miss Oliver studied some time in New York. She is now ju3t from the summer school at Winthrop, and we feel that we are very fortunate to have her "on Benson" this year. Friday night,October 1, there will be a concert in the school auditorium. All patrons and friends in the community are cordially invited. The school in general has been compared to a large corporation consisting of a number of stockholders, the patrons, of course, representing them. We hope that you will feel this way and show your interest in this organization of which you are a member bv visiting the school when 1^ you feel like it. You will always find a welcome. There is no reason why the ensuing year cannot be the "best ever". All we need is organized community effort, and not until we realize thi3 shall we be able to accomplish best results. Won't you help yourselves by helping us this year? P W.
