Lake City School Closing.
Lake City, May 24:?The closing
exercises of the graded school com- j
menced yesterday, with a sermon in j
the Methodist church by Rev P S i
McChesney, pastor of the Presbv- j
terian church at Kingstree, who |
chose as his subject the early life:
and choice of Moses, preaching j
therefrom very earnestly and forci-!
bly, holding up to the class the im- j
portance of the wise life choice.
Special music was rendered, con- j
sisting of a soprano solo by Miss j
Dora Hinnant and a quartette by j
Misses Cornelia Rooke and Mayme j
Green and Mrs R F Joyner and (
Murray Severance.
The cJess exercises were held tonight
in the school auditorium and j
the literary address is to be delivered
tomorrow evening in the same
auditorium by Dr John G Clink-1
scales, of Wofford College, when'
diplomas will be awarded to the!
class of fourteen, of nine young la-;
