By virtue of "The Day," Henry j Chappell rather than Rudyard Kipling is England's national poet. His! poem, "The Day," has gone through i Britain like a prairie fire. It is hard- j lv an Old Favorite as yet, but it; surely shall grow yellow in many scrap-books because born of the Red Corpuscle). You boasted the Day. and you toasted the Day, And now the Day has come. Blasphemer,braggart and coward all. Little you reck of the numbing ball.
