Friday was in reality Field Day. rhe weather was beautiful, all thai could be hoped for in carrying the exercises of the programme to e successful finish without the interruption of rain, sleet or snow which up to a few days previous had beer common in the community. The morning trains brought hundreds oi children and those interested in their welfare, while hundreds of othen came by private conveyances. Exercises opened at the auditorium at 9 o'clock a. m. and by that hour ? multitude of visiting pupils, teachers, patrons and friends were there, the various schools of the counts flaunting their banners to the gentle breeze. The exercises of the morning consisted of literary exercises and clasj work by the elementary schools, embracing the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh grades, and were undei the supervision of special committees. Louise Snow of Union won first lonor among the girls, while HuDert Speigner won first among the boys.
