of the Clarendon county
Confederate monument was laid
here today with elaborate ceremony
by the Grand Lodge of Masons. The
weather was ideal and a large gath

present, lodges at Kingstree,
Foreston, Summerton and Manning
all being well represented. The
pupilsof the Manning Graded school
also attended in a body.

made for Gen Lafayette to use in
laying the corner-stone of the DeKalb
monument at Camden in 1825.
The Grand Master, himself an
