Last Friday afternoon while Master Wilmot, a son of Mr S E McCullough of Taft, was out squirrel hunting he came upon and killed a rattlesnake that measured six feet in length and ten inches in circumference, carrying sixteen rattles. The first game, played in New York, was won by Philadelphia by the score of to 4. New York won the second yesterday in Philadelphia, 3 toO. Mr A E McCall of Lexington, traveling salesman for the Anderson-Lewis Grocery Co, of Richmond, Ya, was in Kingstree this week, Mr McCall says it has long been his desire to own forty acres and a mule in Williamsburg, as he considers it one of the best counties in the State and thinks Kingstree is the Dest town in the State. While here he bought from Mrs Dozier Burgess her place about three and a half miles northwest of town and is now contemplationg the removal of his family here from Lexington. Last Saturday, we understand, there were brought to this market over two hundred bales of cotton, but there was considerable complaint because the buyers were dilatory in getting ready to bid on the cotton.
