On that day Messrs C B ' Haddon and L L Baker, of the Farm Demonstration work, will both be here to speak to the men and boys, i Let every boy who raised a crop of corn bring his best ten ears,whether he measured his corn or not. From here the body was taken to his home for burial. The town council has ordered an election on the question of surrendering the old charter and becoming , chartered lender a new charter. This , change has become permissible on 1 account of the fact that the popula- 1 tion of Lake City now exceeds a j thousand. The charter under which we have been living for so long is | the village charter granted back in ] tjie seventies. The election will be on November 29. Mr Swittenberg nade the motion hat the meetings be confined to the iscussion of problems which the eachers meet every day and that no alk or speech should exceed ten linutes in length; also, that the meetings begin promptly at 12o'clock nd adjourn promptly at 1. These notions were unanimously carried. Mr McCullough appointed a comnittee on programmes, as follows: \r J W Swittenberg, Miss Mattie larper and Miss Susan Gourdin. Suggestions of topics for discusion at the next meeting were then n order and the two following were hosen: "Management of Rural Schools", and "How to Treat the backward Pupil". The first subject rill be opened for discussion by Miss Jusan Gourdin, the second by Miss Vlma Davis. There were twenty-five teachers )resent, and nineteen joined the association.
