Presbyterian church but none was 1 ever witnessed there that excelled in I beauty and impressivene^s the ?-erernony Tuesday evening which united 1 in the holy ln>nds of wedlock Miss Eleanor Gourdin and l)r John ' John <lregg McMaster. For some days More there had been an air of expectancy in social circles and on the morning of the fateful day many friends from a distance gathered here to '?e present at and participate in the interesting affair. Owing to the prominence of the two families represents 1 in this alliance, a large circle of relatives ami friends was included and wide-spread interest in the event - xtended to many partsof the State. Almost to the minute at the appointed hour, 7 o'clock. Her only ornament was a massive gold chain, an heirloom of the family given her hy her ' aunt, Mrs M (.' Mouzon. Miss Winnie McMaster.a sister of \ the groom,wore a gtiwn of messaline 1 silk,with jK-arls. Miss Marie Thorn, ' whitesousine with pearls. Miss Al- j ice Boyd, white cliiffon over satin, with diver trimmings. Miss Agnes Adams, whit*'chiffon trimmed with lace and {narls. The marriage altar was tastefully decorated with native and exotic plants and Bowers. The church was . filled to standing r*i?>ni and the * crowd overflowed into the yard he- s vond the <tcps. Here everything was informal and the hours sped ] gayly and swiftly on until 11 o'clock j when the speeial train engaged for the occasion bore the Florence guests' back to their homes. The bride presented each bridesmaid with a souvenir bar pin. The bride is a scion of two prominent families whose names have ever been writ large in the history "f Williamsburg county ? Boyd and (iourclin. It is no idlecompliment t<> say that she is beautiful, amiable and cultured, king a graduate in music at Chieora College and an accomplished \Hxalist. Her going away divests our rose garden of girls of one of tlie faire-t and loveliest of them all. A host of good wishes and heartfelt felicitations attend her. The groom is a prominent physician of Florence and enjoys a wide J popularity. A Small Blaze. An alarm of fire was eiven today about noon. A stable in the yard of Mr Thomas McCutchen was burned. No other damage was done,owing to the efficiency of "Our Pet."
