operate a warehouse at Platte City
during the sale season, which begins
about November 15 and continues to
about March. During this period
hereafter he will be away from here.

Miss Laura Yates came up from
Rome last week and spent a number i
of days here with friends.
Superintendent S G Puckett went
to Florence Friday.
Mr and Mrs A P Hatched of Effingham
visited in town the end of
the week just past. 1
Mr 1 A Ward of Friendfield spent
Friday in town on business. Mr
Ward's farm is in the belt whose
cropt suffered most severely from
weather conditions this year. Yet
one of his neighbors has just gathered
two hundred and twenty-five
bushels of corn from five acres, and
he was not competing for a prize nor

anything of the sort.
Mr Thomas Creel, who has been
out on a visit to relatives and friends
at his old home in the Hannah section

Mr Robert T Huggins died this j
(Tuesday) morning at Mr J J Ead- c
dy's.near Prospect. It is also report- j
ed that he died of heart failure and
that the end came instantly. Mr
Huggins was about sixty-six years
of age and is survived by his wife
and five or six children. He moved ?
to this town about two years ago
and has lived here since. Mr Hug- <;
gins was a man of above average in- b
telligence, a first-rate man and a ?
good citizen. He has given to the b
world some good ideas in the field J
r.f invention, the most successful be- u
ing the "Huggins plow." His father ?
was the inventor of the "Huggins t
