The members of the Weenee Literary Society gave a box party at the school building Friday n ight, October 23, to raise money to help furnish their hall. All present seemed to ?njoy themselves to the utmost. All the girls brought boxes, which the boys were to ouy and eat with the girl fortune brought his way. When the girls and boys had all gathered in the reading room, which was concerted inio a very cosy parlor :or the occasion, the boys were fiven little slips of paper with a syllable of some flower and and the girls were given the ather syllable. Finally, after ronsiderable ridiculous hunting; :he name of the flower was made, rhen the boy had to go and 3uy a box and he and "his girl" would find some "cute little :ozy corner" and enjoy the ve' y :empting contents of their aoxes. It was not until eleven /clock that the young people started for their several homes. The evening passed pleasantly with music, voting for the most popular girl and a marble con:est. Mr Cook won the marble rontest and received a beautiful ;ake and Miss Roberta Coker, who received the highest num>er of votes for being the most popular girl, was awarded a box >f candy.
