The Wee Nee Literary Society. The Weenee Literary society held its second regular meeting of the session of 1908-09 on Friday afternoon, October 2, 1908, 3:30 o'clock From the great interest shown by the members present this bids fair to be the best, most successful and most prosperous year of our society. We are sure that it is to this end flhat each member is striving and with the earnest work of the thirty-eight studious boys and girls who constitute the active members of our society, tncr^thpr with the cooperation rand interest of our honorary members, the faculty and trustees of Kingstree high school, there is no reason why this year cant be made a recor d breaker in the history of the Weenee Literary society. The literary programme of this meeting proved unusually interesting, especiall}- the debate: "Resolved, That the age makes the man," which showed preparation and interest on the part ot the debaters. Both sides brought up good, strong arguments; the decision however was rendered in favor of the negative. In a very short time now the society expects to furnish and ? it* Anr ^Uip UUC U1 IliC 1 uuuio 1U i/ui I beautiful school building- for A its hall. We shall try to show our appreciation to the trustees for giving us this room in deeds and not words. We also wish to thank the people of Kingstree for the interest they have manifested in our society in the past and to beg them to continue and, if possible, increase it in the future. The officers for the first terra of this school session are: Miss Ada Brockington, president; Miss Eunice Kennedy, vicepresident; Miss Elma Hinds, secretary; Miss Roberta Coker, ( critic; Mr Alexander Rodgers, \ censor; Mr Tommie Gilland, treasurer. We feel sure that these are able and competent ? J ?:n -.11 fKo.V OUlcers dliu Will uu an iu nan i power for the betterment of our V society.
