The leading game of the evening was quite a unique one and called for cleverness and originality. Each guest was presented with paper and pencils, the papers being numbered ?the ladies to correspond with the gentlemen. The ladies were told to write a line of a proposal and hand the paper on to the next lady, who read the line written and added another. The gentlemen were given the ? task of writting answers to pro| posals, this being leap year. Each one read only the line written immediately before he or she received it and folded the paper. After each one had written a line the couples paired off according to the number on the paper in possesion at the close of the game. Then each couple read aloud the proposal and answer.
