of the liver, which
was subdued by the waters of
this spring; and having* another
attack of the old malady last
week he determined to take
time by the forelock and again
seek the waters which gave relief
from the former visitation
of this disease.
The Ladies' Parsonage Aid
Society of the Baptist church
gave an entertainment at the
? Star warehouse Friday night,
No admission was charged, but
ice cream, cakes, etc, etc. were
Isold and the audience entertained
with tableaus, music and so
on The sum taken in amounted
to about $60.00, of which $48.00
was net. The Baptists are
striving to secure a home for
their pastor and that too before
the terminal figure of this year
shall be changed.
Messrs J H V Gaskins and M
M Rodgers have determined to
enter into the feed and grain
" " business and will open up at
once in the "Yellow Store" on
7" Main street.
Thecitizens of the "Gaskins'
neighborhood are getting ready
to build a school house at Param
Baptist church, upon the
lot conveyed to the trustees by
Mrs Seymour Gaskins, which
lot adjoins the church lot.

B King visited the county's
capital Monday last.
Mr J M Truluck sold out his
feefl and grain business last
Friday to Messrs B Wallace
Jones&Sons, who we understand
will continue the business at
the same stand.
The Reinforced Concrete Pipe
Co., has completed its contract
for making the piping" for the
sewerage system. The commissioners
of public works are
shoving the laying of the pipe
and other work in connection
therewith. It is the desire of
all that the entire system be
completed before summer and
the outlook is that it will be
done. Engineer Olmstead, whc
is at the head of the excavating,
laying sewers, connecting mains
etc , is not permitting the verdure
to expand under the gunboats
at the extremities of his
perambulatory members. Selah
