November the 30th has been . appointed as a National Thanksgiving day. That day will be a! time of general rejoicing and v prai<e, of thanksgiving and; tl prayer throughout the country, h Ifi Soutli Carolina there are!ti many whose hearts will be it stirred with gratitude to God A for his continued and abundant it mercies and blessings to them tl and theirs. Their lives, health tl and strength have been precious tl in His sight, and the blessings . of heaven have been upon their homes and their business under- j takings. They will be pleased j to give suitable expressions of! their gratitude to ,God for his goodness to them. This can best be done by aiding his^poor, I unfortunate and sorrowing ones; He says, "Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me." The dependent, homeless orphans are dear to his great, loving heart, and there is nothing perhaps that we could do for him, that would please him more than to care for these little ones. On thanksgiving let the orphans be specially remembered, let arrangements be made in every community, by which the more fortunate can show their gratitude to God by helping the fatherless and dependent. By | contributing of our means in J their behalf we honor our Lord! and become a blessing to others. | While 1 here is yeneral reioicing": - ?I throughout the land, should not, the orphans have some eviden-1 _ c 'S, some sweet tokens of their j Father's love.and care?
