TO BUILD A NEW CHURCH. | Methodists Contemplate Erecting a Better House of Worship. In response to an invitation from Rev W B Justus, the pastor, a meeting was held in the Methodist church Tuesday night to consider the expediency jof erecting a modern brick church building in place of the present antiquated and unsightly structure. The meeting Tuesday night was merely a tentative one and not a great many people were present. Those who were there, however, expressed themselves unanimously in favor of building the new church. As a preliminary step a committee was appointed to decide upon the plans and probable cost of the building and also to devise a plau whereby the necessary funds may be raised. This committee will make its report at a future meeting. There is a crying need in Kingstree for new and better church buildings and it is grati- j fying to see that at least some effort is being made to improve j present conditions. If the Methodist of Kingstree J are determined to have a new church it will be built. But! there must be energy and en- i thusiasm and a spirit of sacri- j fice before anything can be j achieved. We shall await with j interest the report of the com- j mittee after which it will not take long for the members, of Kingstree Methodist church to say whether or not they want the new church. # . ? - - To Claan a White Plume.
