Matters at Moores. Moore's, September 24:?People of this section are kept busy gathering their cotton. The equinoctial gale did but little damage through this section. Dr .1 C Moore, who lias been practicing medicine in North Carolina during the summer has been spending a few days at home with his parents before returning to Charleston Medical College, where he will complete his studies at the ensuing term. Master Bertie Moore, who has been ill of fever for some time, is convalescing rapidly now. Miss Mary Hushton of Mullius is visiting Miss Launa Moore. .Mrs Rosa House and children of Georgetown are spending several days here as the guest of Mr B W Moore. Mi \V \ J Moure has had his ginnery re-modeled and new machinery put in. He is now better than ever prepared to serve the public, having employed a skilled machinist, Mr Haddock, to keep the maehi nery in good running order. The cool autumnal breezes are gratefully refreshing and put stamina into one after the sultry lieat of August. Mr Henry Loyd is confined to his Ixd with pneumonia. Mr 11 A Cook. the hustling agent for the Singer Sewing .Machine Co., is kept busy delivering and collecting. He takes well with the ladies, who are always glad to see his beaming countenance. Miss Mattie Moore is spending some time in the 151 tie llidge. Mr J E Cook will leave for college in a few days. Miss Claudia Stuckey spent last week with her sister, Mrs \Y A Fitch. There have been several new buildings erected here recently, which add to the general appearance of our community.
