-The Pythian Excursion. The excursion from Florence to Charleston Tuesday under * the auspices of Lake City and Scranton K. of P. lodges was a pronounced success both from the standpoint of pleasure and profit. There were six carloadsr beside the baggage car, and the merry excursionists must have numbered close on to 600. The profits of the enterprise, we are informed, are in the neighbor* hood of $200. The management i6 to be congratulated on the good order observed and their successful efforts to insure every ; one a good time. . Benson Briefs. Benson, May 30:?Rev H F Oliver as per announcement, filled the appointment at Cedar Grove church commencing last H^wrsday evening and continuing until Sunday evening. Mr S H Cooper of Dock came up and took in preaching last 8unday. He was accompanied by his best girl. Mr W E Snowden of Choppee came up Saturday evening and visited his home folks.
